This is an original re-conditioned vintage Wedgewood stove Extended Stem Control Knob. Knobs are always bright, shiny. This knob, dial will often be used with the embossed aluminum bezels with 'GRID', 'REAR', 'FRONT', 'BROIL'. This knob bezel ring attaches with square tension nut (see photos) included with knob purchase, not screws.
